


Jaewoo Shim, based in Seoul, joined Clearwater in 2002 as the Country Manager for Korea. Mr. Shim joined Clearwater at the inception of the Korea office, and has played a key role in building Clearwater’s Korea presence, including the investment of over $500 million across 40 transactions. Notable transactions include the purchase of a restructured loan portfolio consisting of 53 credits, the acquisition of four secured loan portfolios with a total principal value of 408 billion Korean Won and a leveraged securitization project with a securitization value of over 80 billion Korean Won. Prior to joining Clearwater, Mr. Shim worked at emerging market dedicated investment bank, Marco Polo, and at LG Insurance as an investment analyst. Mr. Shim is a Chartered Financial Analyst, holding an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from New York’s Stern School of Business and a B.A. in Business Administration from Yonsei University.
