


Jason Edwards, based in Singapore, joined Clearwater in 2005. Mr. Edwards heads the legal team at Clearwater, where he oversees all facets of deal execution from analyzing potential investments to determining potential leverage as well as risk. Mr. Edwards is also responsible for structuring investments with the goal of enhancing enforceability, effectiveness and tax efficiency, as well as assisting with asset management, restructuring, enforcement and exits. Mr. Edwards also assists in implementing and managing strategic initiatives, including the securitization of a portion of Clearwater’s distressed debt portfolio, making way for the first publicly rated, cross-boarder securitization of distressed debt in Asia. Mr. Edwards overseas Clearwater’s counterparty contractual obligations and works with other members of the legal team to identify and evaluate regulatory developments in each operational jurisdiction. Prior to joining Clearwater, Mr. Edwards was a Partner with Baker & McKenzie in their Bangkok and Hong Kong offices. Mr. Edwards holds an Honors and Masters Degree in Law from the Queensland University of Technology and is admitted to practice law in England, Wales, Hong Kong and Australia.
