Edward Cairns, based in Hong Kong, works with the investment team primarily on North Asian
and European credits, focusing on deal structuring, negotiation and execution. Prior to joining
Clearwater in 2007, he was a Partner in White & Case, LLP, where he specialized in business
restructuring and insolvency. Mr. Cairns has received numerous industry accolades for his work.
For example, in 2004 he was one of 20 restructuring lawyers globally recognized as “Best of the
Best” by International Finance Law Review, a Euromoney publication. An Honours Graduate in
Law from the University of Glasgow, he is admitted to practice law in Scotland and in Hong Kong, where he has lived since 1993.
